CAVS is an independent charity and the umbrella body for the third sector in Carmarthenshire. We provide information guidance and support to organisations and community groups enabling them to become sustainable and effective.
There are so many different ways to volunteer: from responding to a formal request to the informal, helpful neighbour. At CAVS we like to lead from the front and get involved when we can. As well as supporting our communities during their current call to action, and continuing to offer advice and guidance to the many groups whose work depends on their volunteers, we also roll up our sleeves (sometimes literally).

“It was hard work but good fun. We were able to share the load for a few hours – though we should never be allowed near fancy dress. We can be very distracting”.
The team are really passionate about our environment and have participated in a number of beach clean ups across Pembrey and Llanelli. “Being outside and volunteering in an even bigger group gives you such a feeling of wellbeing. Exercise, fresh air and camaraderie are the positives of needing to clean up refuse”.
“Litter picking around Kidwelly gave us a real sense of community achievement. Just working together towards a common goal can be really motivating – and the sunshine didn’t hurt.”
