Helping others can be incredibly rewarding and creates connections with the people around you.
Do something nice for a friend or a stranger. Thank someone. Smile. Volunteer your time or help someone. Join a community group. Look outward, as well as within. Be kind to yourself when you need a break, or need some time to do things that bring you joy.
Give a smile away! Giving gives adults a sense of purpose and improves self-esteem.
If you have fruit trees pop your excess fruit out on the street with a "help yourself" sign.
Join a community clean up day - could be a local stream, river, beach or park.
Start timebanking. Timebanking is the simple exchange of 'offers' and 'requests' for a credit.
Offer to mow your neighbour's property, change their lightbulb or rake their leaves.
Help with school working days and fundraisers for local groups.
Donate old toys, books, sports equipment, clothes etc to a local community group.
Organise or promote random acts of kindness days at school, work or when you're out with a group.
Offer to help an older neighbour with something they struggle with.
See Volunteering Wales for more information about how you can get involved and give to others.
