What is timebanking?
Timebanking is the process of exchanging time and skills with other people in your community. You give your time to help others, and in return, they give help when you need it - a simple concept that can have a positive effect on your personal well-being and the wellbeing of others.
Timebanking creates new and positive ways for people to connect and make new friends. You can give help doing things you enjoy, at a time that suits you. For every hour you give, you earn an hour ‘time credit’ in return. Time credits can be earnt, spent, or donated and everyone’s time is valued equally.
You don’t need any qualifications or special skills to join the timebank, just a willingness to offer your help to others or ask for help you need. It’s a two-way process of giving and receiving time, skills, and knowledge.
