men2men Carmarthen Wellbeing Hub

Connecting Men Through Activities

About

Connecting Men Through Activities

men2men is a Hywel Dda Health Board seed funded unique service for men, led by men. We engage men around Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigionshire to set up small, activity groups to draw in local men.

Such shared activities can be fun and enable men to connect with others, generating a sense of belonging, fellowship and a space in which they may feel comfortable to talk about how they really are. We encourage men to volunteer and support them to share skills with other men through activity workshops.

We are being encouraged by Carmarthen Town Council to develop a wellbeing hub that local men can access, similar to the one we have in Cardigan. This will comprise a men's shed offering a variety of woodwork and craft activties and a nearby woodland Ffwrdgain, which already offers woodland therapy actitvities.

We are currently using the Quay Centre on the river in Carmarthen Town to engage with local men and develop ideas for whats needed in a dedicated Men's Shed ( as in Cardigan, this shed will offer acces to women too).
